Puppy is the theme to the horror comedy film Puppy, starring Calico Cooper, daughter of rock legend Alice Cooper and is one of Rock 'n' Roll Villain Society's most popular songs, proving the age old axiom, in the words of Jay Skyler, that "People apparently really like songs about dogs."
When asked about the origin of the song Jay replied "[Producer] Sony Green approached me to write a song for the closing credits of the film. Being a comedy, he asked that I make the song funny."
"I refused, saying I would write and sing the song without the slightest trace of humor, because I felt the song would be far funnier that way. In the end he agreed with me because he ultimately used it for the opening credits."
